If this sounds like the place where you would like to grow your career, we are currently seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Human Resources team. The successful candidate will bring significant recruitment experience, in order to help us mature our talent practices during a period of rapid expansion. They will also support the creation and implementation of HR programs, such as onboarding and career development. WestUrban has a small HR team. We are excited to be building a full range of HR programs, aimed at strengthening our workplace culture as we continue to grow. This position reports to the Director, Human Resources.

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively within the Human Resources team to support the research, creation and implementation of new HR programs and to support policy and procedure updates;

Work on projects to enhance our talent acquisition processes, focusing on improving the candidate experience through to new hire onboarding, leaving every candidate with a positive experience and timely feedback;

Recommend strategies for identifying and recruiting potential candidates, develop selection criteria, job postings and confirm job requirements for vacant positions;

Identify and execute creative ways to proactively source potential candidates through online resources, recruitment sites, job boards, social platforms and professional networks;

Build and maintain a pipeline of potential candidates to meet future workforce planning and succession needs;

Create and maintain recruitment metrics and reporting;

Support new hires and managers during onboarding, working to strengthen the way we deliver the onboarding process. This includes preparing employment agreements, following up for the timely receipt of documentation, coordinating requirements prior to arrival and planning for new hire orientation;

Empower hiring managers to make effective hiring decisions by providing coaching through all steps of the talent acquisition process;

Assist with projects related to selection and implementation of applicant tracking systems, as well as career site branding and modernization;

Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

5 - 8 years experience in Human Resources, with expertise in Talent Acquisition;

Previous experience recruiting within real estate development or construction would be an asset;

Experienced in full-cycle recruitment and candidate sourcing with the ability to bring creative solutions to advance our approach to talent acquisition;

Solid understanding of Employment Standards, Human Rights and other Human Resources related legislation;

Strong computer skills with experience using and/or implementing applicant tracking systems and online recruitment platforms;

A self-motivated professional with a high level of initiative, a sense of urgency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment;

Collaborative team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done well and who enjoys a challenge;

Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to follow through and meet deadlines;

Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy;

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a comfort level speaking in front of others;

Ability to respond to issues and enquiries in a timely and professional manner; with a focus on finding solutions to challenges;

A strong interest in improving company culture and employer branding;
