Project Manager, Design

If this sounds like the place where you would like to grow your career, we are currently seeking a Project Manager Design to join our team. Working under the general direction of the Director of Market Assets, the Project Manager, Design in collaboration with the Building Design and Development teams will be responsible for the timely development, coordination, application, and issuance of building permits and the project can be turned over to the construction teams. Leads and facilitates all stages of the detailed design phase on multiple projects) to ensure brand integrity, cost effectiveness, adherence to building standards / codes, and consistency.
Procures consultants and engineers (structural, mechanical, electrical, building in various markets where development sites are located;
Liaises and provides input for development of construction budgets;
Connects with local governments to understand permit application requirements and local government processing timelines;
Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks across multiple projects concurrently;
Foster excellent collaboration within the overall project team;
Understand and perform efficient and effective document control functions including tracking and issuing RFIs, submittals, contracts, and change orders;
Develop, implement, and monitor detailed design schedules and projected construction start timelines;
Deliver projects in scope, on time, and on budget;
Support the project team in solving construction issues in time sensitive and urgent situations. Providing technical information and guidance regarding design instructions.
Degree or diploma in Planning, Architecture, or Engineering or certification/registration in a relevant professional discipline, or equivalent experience in a residential construction environment;
5-7 years minimum experience in a Project Management position, preferably in a residential construction environment;
PMP designation desirable;
Advanced computer skills including intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel;
Ability to make decisions and meet critical deadlines, providing advice and direction to construction sites;
Ability to adapt and demonstrate resiliency in response to changing work demands;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment;
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with project and company stakeholders; including managing relationships with design consultants;
Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a results-oriented approach;
Attention to detail with the ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy;
Strong prioritization skills with the ability to meet deadlines and take responsibility for your work;
Ability to think creatively when problem solving, proactively adapting to challenges;
A high degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality;
Excellent leadership skills with a willingness to train, motivate, and develop employees and colleagues;
Superb written and spoken communication skills.
