The Position

The Capital Associate is with our capital raising team, which is responsible for the raising of financing and investment in projects. ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Capital Associate will be on the front line of our fast-paced team, working to support the Finance and Equity teams in the execution of our strategic direction. This is a dynamic role that will provide the opportunity to work with investment professionals, financial institutions, investors and senior management. The role will be focused on supporting the finance and investor relations strategies, servicing the investor base as well as planning and coordinating meetings, events, and communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage onboarding of new investors and day to day management of investor databases, contact lists and filing systems;
  • Take an active role in developing and maintaining the investor communications processes and CRM;
  • Build cross functional relationships to collaborate on communications strategies and address investor inquiries;
  • Aggregate and assist with delivery of on-going reporting requirements for cash flow and investor return (IRR), financial trends, proformas, project brochures, quarterly reports and others as required;
  • Manage inquiries from existing and prospective clients to provide responses to all routine and non-routine questions;
  • Update departmental and business structure organization charts;
  • Manage the preparation and dissemination of communications on project and transaction announcements and investor level updates;
  • Work closely with operations and other departments to gather and disseminate internal updates on projects such as timelines, photos, design, permit status etc.;
  • Coordinate information to assist with lending requests, and institutional investor underwriting as needed.

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Advanced computer skills including MSOffice products (Excel, Power Point, Word);
  • Strong Financial & Business Acumen;
  • Driven and self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team;
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity and trust and operate with uncompromising ethical standards;
  • Aptitude for collaboration and continuous learning;
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making skills;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field;
  • Demonstrated maturity and ability to support senior management, executives, and sophisticated clients;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of core Finance concepts (accounting, capital, treasury, tax);
  • Preference given to candidates with:
  • Financial Designation, CFA or MBA
  • Experience or exposure to working in an Investor relations role or in related capital market roles.
  • Completion or enrollment in the Exempt Market Proficiency (EMP) course
